They try to provoke Syria and Russia! Latest news was that US Air Force is bombing around in Idlib and don't inform Russian Forces. Idlib is really dangerous near to Khmeimim Air Base.

Aim of the Obama administration is, that Russia shoot down something (fighter, bomber drone...whatever!) that belongs to USA for a new round of hysteric sanctions and propaganda. Normal US soldiers and officers are not aware of this fact and only victims of their own aggressive administration.

What piss me really off is that USA is acting over Syria like it's Arizona, California or some other part of their country. NO! Syria is a independent and sovereign country! Only Russia has the syrian permission to throw bombs, beside SyAAF.
Yup a B-52 apparently, presumably with escorts.

A US B-52 bomber carried out an attack on January 3 in Syria's Idlib province without notifying Russia, killing over 20 civilians, the Russian General Staff said.

"We remember how the US aviation carried out an attack near Deir ez-Zor on [Syrian] government forces after which Daesh units launched an offensive in September last year," Chief of the Russian General Staff Valery Gerasimov said. "The latest example is a B-52 bomber's strike on January 3 without notifying Russia on Sarmada populated area in the Idlib province, which is located in the area where hostilities are halted. As a result, 20 civilians were killed," General Gerasimov said.

Difficult to say if they are Su-25 or Yak-130. But if they are indeed Yak-130, than there is a good question, if they are for Syrian AF.

They are Su-25s. I stand corrected.
Confirmation from local source that 12 Su-25s have arrived to Syria.

Major offenses ready to start around Aleppo. Apparently they can sortie the Su-25 about half a dozen times a day.

My highlight. Also could be just 4 Su-25.

Russian Ministry of Defense has denied the reports made by the US media alleging that Russia has increased its military presence in Syria, according to Defense Ministry's spokesman Maj. Gen. Igor Konashenkov.

Earlier, the US TV channel FoxNews aired a report saying that Russia had been allegedly stepping up its military presence in Syria. One of two US officials quoted in a Fox News report on Wednesday claimed that "we have seen new things coming in" from Russia to Syria.

Russian Defense Ministry is already implementing measures to reduce Russian military grouping in Syria, Maj. Gen. Igor Konashenkov said. "The Russian Defense Ministry implements measures to reduce the groups of Russian troops (forces) in accordance with the order of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Armed Forces," Konashenkov said. He pointed out that the Northern Fleet carrier group including the Admiral Kuznetsov heavy carrier, as well as more than 40 aircraft from the surface ship aviation that was used to conduct strikes on international terrorist organizations, started their withrawal on January 6. "By the way, Fox news, as well as almost all media outlets in the world, reported it in their news program," Maj. Gen. Igor Konashenkov said.

He pointed out that first six Su-24 bombers have been redeployed to Russia from the Hmeymim airbase in Latakia. The withdrawal of some aircraft, as well as flight and engineering staff from Syria is planned to be completed in the near future, Maj. Gen. Igor Konashenkov said. Russian air group at the Hmeymim airbase now includes four Su-25 aircraft as part of a scheduled rotation, Maj. Gen. Igor Konashenkov noted. "As part of the planned rotation of aircraft, four Su-25 attack aircraft from Russia, equipped with modern navigation and sighting systems, were really made part recently of the Russian air group at the Hmeymim airbase," Konashenkov said.

The decision to cut Russia's military presence in Syria was made by Russian President Vladimir Putin at the recommendation of Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu on December 29. Russia and Turkey are guarantors of a nationwide Syrian ceasefire that came into force last week, and has been holding up in general, despite continued reports of violations. The UN Security Council passed a resolution last Saturday supporting the effort.

I wonder if Russia send any new Su-25SM3 in Syria. It would be excellent oportunity to test SOLT-25 targeting complex and new data link complex for night operations against terrorists.

Wouldn't be surprised that these 4 are those. Five were ordered for 2016.

Russia, Turkey Sign Agreement on Coordinating Airstrikes in Syria against ISIS, Nusra

Russian and Turkish military officials have agreed to coordinate aerial attacks against the positions of foreign-sponsored militant groups in Syria, and signed a memorandum on combat flight safety during missions in Syrian airspace.

The Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement that the agreement, reached in Moscow during a Thursday meeting, specifies a course of action to avoid incidents during flights over Syrian airspace.
“The memorandum establishes mechanisms of coordination and interaction between Russian and Turkish aircraft during airstrikes against terrorist targets, as well as measures aimed at preventing flight incidents involving aircraft and unmanned aerial vehicles in Syrian airspace,” the statement read.

No indication that an expansion had been agreed, just a hope. Ready for Trump perhaps.

The Pentagon welcomes the expansion of the Memorandum of Understanding with Russia on flight operations in Syria, a US official said.

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The US Department of Defense supports the expansion of the Memorandum of Understanding with Russia on flight operations in Syria, Acting US Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Security Affairs Elissa Slotkin said in a briefing on Friday. "We have constantly improved upon that document since we started," Slotkin told reporters. "I am in total favor to expand upon it as needed."

On October 20, 2015, senior officials from the US Defense Department and the Russian Ministry of Defense signed a Memorandum of Understanding on flight safety in Syria's airspace which, to date, has proven effective.

In October 2016, US Central Command spokesman John Thomas told Sputnik the United States is searching for processes and technologies that can improve the effectiveness of communication and deconfliction with Russia.

It would be an ideal opportunity to test the aircraft and new weapons and joint operations supporting ground forces.

It will also be a test of the self defence capabilities of the upgraded aircraft.

And an opportunity to get real experience for air crew and ground crew.

Not sure, but this could be one of the SU-25SM3 now in Syria. Does it look like one? Is it warm enough for that uniform?

The General doing the briefing said they were the latest model Su-25SM with a new targeting system. Sounds like the SM3 to me. As for the uniform, going from minus 15 to plus 15 will do that to you Smile
