If these reports are accurate, the SAA just made a huge huge huge blunder.

They can regain what's lost but the manpower they will need to do so will only hurt them worse.

I have said before, Iran needs to send in it's army and start attacking that black they cannot expect the SAA to deal with all the rebels, ISIs and possible Kurds and FSA. If Syria falls they are next on the hitlist. So better to stop it in Syria before it reaches them.

ISIS has total fire control over Palmyra according to SAA sources. Barely any units holding the line in Palmyra. Horrible weather plus VBIED combo looks as if God is on their side (No he's not btw it's sarcasm) for this battle. Disappointing how incapable Syrian forces can be at times.

Stop losing your sh*t, this is just nice coordination between FSA and ISIS.

Palmyra can fall no problem, it changes nothing because it will just be retaken later.

And if some more incompetent morons who allowed this to happen get killed in the process, all the better. Quality over quantity.

This dumb thinking right here, it takes the lives of soliders(the SAA is in short supply already) to capture and recapture territory. If you are stupid enough to do a ceasefire in Aleppo, when you are so close to victory, than you make sure everything else is taken care of.

maybe because there is something like deception, disinformation...to let ISIS move to open firld or to hide real offensive direction. I am always wondering why some guys here are so quick to judge strategy after listening only breaking news, not always verified BTW Smile

It looks an empty area ,but is full of chain of mountains , which is dangerous for hellicopters to fight . Is a big area and you need many thousands soldiers on foot to climb mountains. The other major problem could be to defend the place once taken you will have soldiers spread.

I think is clear Syrian army is already working at the max of its capability in units.
I agree that IRAN needs to step up. The big missing player here is China. What those bastards
are doing that do not send at least 10,000 undercover special forces to help Russia clear Homs .

I really think that Russia could do a million time better difference if they had attack drones ,in Syria. from 30 to 40 of them. It will do a huge difference because contrary to combat jets that fly too fast and makes too much noise warning terrorist they need to hide , attack drones can be very silent and fly slow for better view of terrain does not produce much heat and fly high enough to avoid manpads is the perfect weapon.

I really think that unfortunately for Russia. US army will be far better prepared that Russia
to Fight ISIS and Alqaeda if they did not had a terrorist president and had one who really wanted to help Syria , like Putin.  Because the US military have plenty of Attack drones and they are very very effective. The terrorist will not know they are on lock until is too late, they can fly at night and near invisible their presence. The psicological impact on terrorist of Attack drones is far greater than COmbat jets ,because they do not warn of their presence until already a missile is launched on their positions. Had Russia had attack drones , with lazer guided hellfire missiles
it will really keep terrorist away from any place.

Hellicopters are not ideal for fighting terrorist in mountains , since terrorist will have elevated terrain and hellicopters can't fly high enough ,and makes too much noise and they are easy to spot.  As i said , Russia is not fighting in Syria with the most ideal weapons and tactics. I don't know what is wrong with Russia that cannot build an attack drone to fight in Syria.

I know that you have a sort of hate for the SAA, but at the end of the day regardless if they are brilliant, ok, or poor soldiers they are willing to pick up arms and stand on the front line, willing to fight despite lack of training, and willing to die for the sake of their family, country, and tackle the terrorism that is western backed within their country. This alone makes them worth while having, they are only human and if things get too much and with their lack of training if they have to retreat so they can fight another day on a better situation then so be it. The men and women have chosen to fight for and support the Syrian government when easily they could have fought on the side of the various terror groups in Syria yet again they should be appreciated for that.

its good to see ISIS being pushed back maybe its time to do a massive aerial bombardment to help thin out their numbers in the area to put the idea of attacking the SAA again. I foresee more of these attacks as ISIS is slowly push out of Iraq and flee towards Syria adding numbers to ISIS units.

RUssia needs to take the President of CHina by the shirt and demand him to stop being a chicken and send military forces to help alleviate the problem , since there are chinese muslins too in Syria that will take their knowledge and experience from SYria to China to fight to provoke violence there too.

I quite agree China are quick to back Russia and Syria in terms of vocal means however they seem to fall short of any military support. I would atleast expect as a bare minimum that they could send ships full of aid for civilians and even send ammo, medical staff, engineers, and send a few detachments of UAV's operated by Chinese operators, and also send artillery, recce troops and air force assets, all this would limit Chinese casualties. These actions alone would have a great impact on things. And this would also serve as experience for them. These actions could well have kept ISIS at bay on the Palmyra and Homs front.

As for Iran they need to send about 12,000 soldiers and these could ether be sent to Palmyra and eastern Homs front in order to make a push for Deir Ez Zoir or to apply pressure on the massive Homs enclave which if liberated would free up loads of SAA to use elsewhere. Iran could also send artillery units armed with M-46 (130mm) which they sh*t loads of, and add to this UAV's and recce troops and these artillery units become more deadly.

The interview that have the Obama administration and Congress with
    diahrreas..  lol1

Now the american government is in wait mode too see how American citizens react
to this new developments.  If American society stay with their fingers in their butt
doing nothing , then no consequences will happen.  Still is really good news..
THis raise people awareness world wide , and people who never knew about Syria now
will now. My Prediction is there is a high probability ,ill give a 60% one , that major
civil dissobedience between Congress lawmakers against the Obama administration and
Neocons warhawcks and major rejection and insubordination from american military to
follow orders to aid any rebel terrorist in Syria or IRAQ. So this is good news.

Ashton Carter is now in IRAQ.. in Mosul.. so my biggest bet is Obama administration,
needs to desperately score a victory against ISIS in IRAQ to counter the scandals of their
support of terrorism in Syria. Such victory for sure will not be a real fight. In real practice is
to bribe the terrorist to leave mosul ,so they leave peacefully to Turkey. Since NATO will never
bomb ISIS knowing that it will be a major problem to get support later from other terrorist groups knowing they will be betrayed too.
