So trump will not nation build . He will not invest in Afghan infrastructure . Just send troops . To watch over the safe opium harvest . Do a bit of killing . Aggravate the sectarian conflict . Turn a blind eye to Pakistan involvement with Taliban .

We have to do the opposite . Invest in industry and agriculture . Joint venture with India and Iran and Russia and Afghanistan .Build industrial complex . House workers inside safe perimeter . Build a village . A town . A city . Employ diverse workforce . Encourage inter -ethnic marriage . Modern laws . Industry later sold to workers . As shareholders . Pay taxes and build national economy .

Offer to buy agricultural produce from farmer if they stop opium growth . If not burn the opium crop . Help build political party . Hospital ..............

You can't do that unless you kick the Americans out. As such, good luck.

Constant pin prick attacks killing one American here and there each week will lead them to leave eventually...

TALIBAN CLAIMS DOWNING OF TWO HELICOPTERS IN AFGANISTAN’S DAIKUNDI PROVINCE

    Afghan Air Force Mi-8 Hip

Taliban members have downed two helicopters belonging to pro-government forces in Ajristan district of the Afghan province of Daikundi, the Taliban media wing reported.

According to the report, the first helicopter was downed at 6:00 pm local time in the Clink area in Ajristan district on September 6. It is not clear how much people were killed or wounded in the incident.

The second helicopter was allegedly downed in the same area on September 7 when 3 helicopters arrived to transfer the wounded pro-government fighters and the wreckage of the crashed helicopter. Taliban fighters opened fire on the helicopters and one of them crashed in Malistan district.

However, the Taliban media outlet was not able to provide photos or videos of the allegedly downed helicopters.

NATO forces and the Afghan government have not commented on the Taliban claims.

US airstrikes purge Taliban forces in west Afghanistan

BEIRUT, LEBANON (3:50 P.M.) – The United States Air Force (USAF) has stepped up its bombing campaign in Afghanistan over the last day, targeting Taliban troop movements and gathering points.

According to both US and Afghan military sources, American airstrikes have killed and wounded close to 20 Taliban fighters across two provinces in western Afghanistan over the last 24 hours.

Late yesterday, a drone strike against a Taliban gathering in the province of Nangarhar killed 11 militants and wounded at least one other. Moreover, several pieces of heavy weaponry (likely armed technical pickups) belonging to the Taliban were reportedly destroyed as well.

Today, another airstrike in the Maidan Wardak region targeted a Taliban troop movement at the village of Marko killing three Islamist insurgents – including a local commander by the name of Mawlavi Farid – and wounding another four.

Regarding the province of Maidan Wardak, military analysts note that whilst the two main opposing parties on the ground are Coalition-led forces and the Taliban, it has become apparent that ISIS is attempting to expand in the region, suggesting that a three-way conflict may soon emerge.

Wow, those are low number of enemy combatants killed in air strikes. The title sure says more than reality.

Indeed, I would wonder if Russia would have to intervene in Afghanistan. They would make quick work out of the taliban.

However, I don't know that what does it take too long for ISAF and ANA* (it has around 120,000 - 180,000 soldiers IIRC) to wipe them out.

    *ANA = Afghan National Army

Once they work out how expensive they are to keep flying I expect they will be put into storage...
Of course the US is in for the long haul because there are plenty of minerals and resources to mine... Trump will make Afghanistan pay for the money the US has spent destroying it... He will try to make Afghanistan into what the Congo is for Belgium... hope they get burned... Sad
