It would be nice if they could finish soon, the PF really needs new ships. Hopefully Amur shipyard is improving with this so it can begin making Gorshkovs also.

Amur is not improving, if anything it is deeper and deeper into shit.
Making Gorshkov frigates is like making the Death Star for them at the moment.

They should let it go under and then look at selling it off or letting someone else run it. Because this is ridiculous.

I think there's no way their going to close down Amur....they'll just have sort out the problems.

Also mentioned in the link is work on a new coast guard vessel - Pr. 23500
Couldn't find any images of the 23500, but I presume it's similar to the Pr. 22500

No way, the shipyard is strategicly important and have to be put in order, to supply PF with both new ships and advanced repair facility. Also the civilian market in SE Asia is huge. It will take some time but there is nothing to say it cant be done, as it has been done before.
"Previously privately owned, it was sold in May 2009 for a nominal price of a few thousand roubles to the state-controlled United Shipbuilding Corporation.[3][4]
In 2011, it was (once again) announced that the shipyard would no longer build submarines"
They will perhaps not build submarines for some time, but its probably wise to get the surface division up and running properly first.
In the city they have the Komsomolsk-on-Amur Aircraft Production Association, and its working fine, so no need to become pessimistic and say close the shipbuildning down.
They have been idle for some time so its just natural it takes time to come back to level.
Now lets see if the two corvettes being built at Amur is going in the water this year, if not being commisioned.

Corvette Project 20385 instead of the German engine will get Russian
He added that the prospective Russian engines will be much more productive than the German, which are capable of giving a power of 5700 kW
Chief Designer "Kolomna factory" Valery Ryzhov said that the company complied with the technical design of the engine capacity of 7500 kilowatts, which will be installed on the Project 20385 corvettes.

Russia to Close Stealth Corvette Project Over Lack of Foreign Components
A project to build advanced Gremyashchy class stealth corvettes will be closed due to insufficient supply of foreign-made components, the shipbuilder said Wednesday.
MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The first two vessels of the Project 20385 class, which is a derivative of the Steregushchy class (Project 20380) corvette featuring better electronics, air defenses and extended operational range, are the Gremyashchy and the Provorny corvettes.
“Foreign-made equipment was installed on Project 20385 corvettes, and certain problems have emerged due to present-day events,” said Leonid Kuzmin, the marketing director of the Severnaya Verf shipyard.
The two vessels are in various stages of completion and will be equipped with domestically-produced substitutes of foreign-made spare parts.
“Our shipyard is currently building two ships, and the possibility of replacing the [foreign-made] equipment [with domestically produced parts] is now being studied, but, apparently, the two corvettes will remain the only ships of their class.”

Re: Project 2038.0: Steregushchy Corvette
What fucking retard decided to replace russian warship engines with german ones? Civilian usage is one thing, but relying on a member of a openly hostile military on something so significant, giving the supplyier the ability to jeopardize your fleet at will is pure treason
And if the reasons are purely technological then why the fuck can Russia easily domestically produce infinately more complex aircraft powerplants , but it's such an astronomical task to produce a CONVENTIONAL gas turbine(seriously the technology for such a thing is not new, in fact the USSR pioneered the usage of such engines, therefore Russia should have had more than enough experience in building them) for a CORVETTE, not a cruiser, not a frigate, but a fucking corvette.
And given the abundance of gas turbine engines in small soviet warships, why can't they just put one from a gepard, project 133, or project 1241, all in service, and all similar size?

Obviously they chose German Engines instead of ukrainian ones, and thought that was right desiscion, however a poor choice indeed to buy from a enemy, or opposing military bloc at least.
Now i hope they will add VLS as a modification and arm with Clubs instead of Kh-25´s.

Any one know, if Baltic fleet Steregushy corvettes will get 300 km range Kh-35 missiles? For now they have basic 120 km range missiles.

Re: Project 2038.0: Steregushchy Corvette
The article states it will use Russian engines now. As well, I imagine it will go through some adjustments to accomodate new defense systems.
It was really stupid. Now Russian industry is playing cactchup and just testing new domestic engines.

In what parallel universe are the Steregushchy-class powered by GAS TURBINES? They have diesel engines. Personally, I think the real reason for rejecting the Gremyashchy class is cost. As the two building will be fitted with russian-made engines (the only foreign-made parts I know of), they could have fitted the rest of the Gremyashchys as well.
Seems also as the Steregushchy suffered an engine-fire recently.

Steregushny/Gremaishny classis a dead-end anyway (short range,too weak).
Hopefully now they focus on project 22160 boats. Those make more sense IMO.

The 22160 is a patrol ship, not a navyship... And the Steregushny/Gremaishny is Corvettes and as such will operate near coast, for which they are well suited.

Can the Steregushchy Corvette be equipped with the Shtil-1 SA missile system?
It can give a nice power against any aircrafts and 24 missiles can be install forward part of the ship?

Two more 20380s for TOF
http://ria.ru/defense_safety/20150527/1066769257.htmlMOSCOW, may 27 — RIA Novosti. The defense Ministry plans to build two more Corvette project 20380 for the Pacific fleet (PF), now comes the negotiation of the contract, told RIA Novosti in the press service of the United shipbuilding Corporation (USC) on Wednesday.
The first vessel of a series under construction in the far East called "Perfect", was launched in Komsomolsk-on-Amur on may 25.
"The defense Ministry is planning to build two corvettes at the Amur shipyard for PAC. The draft contract is under negotiation by the parties," — said the press service.
The corvettes will be built under the project 20380, "as the most reliable and proven," said the Agency interlocutor.
Ships project 20380 have a displacement of 2 thousand tons, a length of over 100 meters, maximum speed of 27 knots and a range of Autonomous navigation to 4 thousand miles.
Corvettes of this project are armed with anti-ship missiles "Uranus", anti-aircraft missile system "Redoubt", as well as anti-submarine "-NK" for torpedoing submarines.

Since they are planning to curtain 20385 corvette to just 2 , What wil they build instead of it ?
Or will they just build less capable 20380 types ?
