Its a good catch in every sense...if there wasnt any pic or video of this guys, the western Jihadi media would have painted him as a very innocent under-aged momma's boy whose only 'crime' was to tore off President Assad's poster from the walls.

Do you really want to sink to that level? Even Stalinist USSR did not kill German POWs.

Beheading captured militants would mean that SAA is really no better than the guys they fight... and would guarantee more stiff resistance in the future. Swapping them for SAA prisoners is better and more civilized way to do stuff.

He needs to undergo thorough interrogation. Where is he from? How did he get to Syria? WHo helped him? Who travelled with him? Where was he trained? When? Who by? Who else was trained with him? Where were the weapons cached? How much was he paid? Where are the rest of his team of thugs? What tarrgets did he hit? Etc, etc. All the info needs to be verified or otherwise checked. In the end he will probably be too scared to go back, but ....

Cause SAA are not known for decapitations. He will be given to other institutions Smile What will happen to this babyface "non-combatant" is interrogation and probably execution by hanging or shooting dead.

Syrian Civil War: News #5 - Page 11 Empty FWIW Chinese involvement in Syria?

    Post  short_fuze Thu Dec 31, 2015 8:36 am

There is an article suggesting China will supply up to 5000 special forces to Syria. There have been reports of Chinese involvement before, so the article may be bs. However, this one goes into some detail, specifying unit names, budgetary figures, and the presence of Chinese military hardware in the field. It also refers to recent meetings (December 24) between Chinese diplomats and the Syrian government. The political impetus seems to be preservation of the so-called 'Silk Road' trade routes.

Mmmm, perhaps the Chinese have decided that that they were getting seriously left behind on the 'realistic' training front and its about time some of its forces got some experience of proper fighting. Especially as the risk of joining a losing side looks pretty low, so no likelihood of losing face. It would also seriously piss off the US.

Also, they have some gear that needs some new, more realistic sales demonstration videos if they are to keep up with their competitors.

Either way, very good and understandable decisions.

On the 'its just training' subject, I wonder if the injuries/deaths Russia is suffering in Syria is lower or higher than they would be suffering if this was a 'normal' training exercise.

Nothing extraordinary about them. These guys are just rebranded Basij, an auxiliary force that is meant (in case of major conventional conflict) to augument the army and the IRGC In Russian they would not even be called armiya but opolchenye. Their main strengrth is in numbers, i.e. Iran could possibly mobilize several milions of them.

To be honest, Iranian military help to Syria is too scant. 5000 Iranian militiamen and 10,000 Shia militiamen from Iraq, both without heavy equipment... and that's all? An IRGC corps could easily be sent there... and it would give SAA it's much needed time to rest, rearm and recover from losses.

Part 1 of a long, but very interesting article about one of the more key figures amongst that group of "moderates" that got bumped off the other day in that air strike, and the reasonable and moderate group he led, Jaish al-Islam.

Good find. Do you know were the rest of the report is, or has it not been published yet?

I didn't realize that Zahran Alloush was the pile of excrement who put civilians in cages in Eastern Ghouta to be used as human shields. Allah must be a just God, willing a ironic end for him.

My impression was that they were in a convoy on a narrow road, some appear to have been blown over by blast - evidenced by nearby craters in the road surface. I don't know which way they were travelling. Maybe they were empty returning to the oil fields to be filled up?

In case Assad was overthrow ,and so called "rebels" took control of Damascus in full , it will have been important for the white house to have their right people to arrive first to take
the price. One that is supported from the start by most so called rebels in all Syria. This makes
the terrorist fighting in Damascus the most likely ones ,to receive the full support of Pentagon
and Israel in case the Syrian army was defeated. that said.. is very likely that Zahran Alloush,
the terrorist and criminal ,will have been Obama top man for replacing Assad or at least leading
the new Army of Syria and taking control of it to organize Fake elections for America to legitimize their new puppets as they did in Ukraine with Poroshenko. With Zahran Alloush killed
they will need to find someone else who have the support of most rebels in damascus ,otherwise
the war will not end and rebels will fight each other for power if the right unifying terrorist leader is not at the head. Words are that the successor of him ,his brother was also killed but this is not confirmed. Any case .. for Syria this doesn't matter much , the real race now is
in northern Syria that US and its alliance wants to split from Syria. by simply renaming ISIS fighters with a freedom bullshit name , and fake a defeat of ISIS. when in reality is a transfer of land without a fight. from ISIS to some obama hand picked terrorist which it will call "moderates."
