    4. Cruise Missiles (Krylatie Raketa Vosdushnogo Basiravonae)
    5. Su-34
    6. Orange Objects (Targets)

Meaning targets got plenty while attacks increased but did not fill the spectrum, well with each day where moderaes disappear and become unmoderates you get more targets than strikes you can carry out. Just see the increase of targets after Erdogan become Tie-eater 2.
24.11.15 and the targets rose back to high peak. Erdogan just made the turkmens legitemate targets that is all.

What about the Su25s though ?? Do they come under blue as well ??

If you look at this, it means that the Su 34 hasnt been hitting much but I find that hard to believe.

200 potential targets a day - There are some AFs in the world that SHOULD have come to help Russia in this 'turkey shoot' so to speak. But they will not. And it is, more or less, a reality.

    DISREGARD :

It shows the workload (so to speak) per airbase. The blue is ALL flights from the Khmeimim AB - SU 25s, 24s, 34s even 30SMs.

The Su 34 here says - Su 34 Krimsk - That is Su 34s from Krimsk AB in Russia made these runs.

Tu 22M3 should really say Mozdok along with data from Tu 160 but this is what we have.

I think the number of targets can go up, but the number of priority targets remains the same. They put the 15,000 oil tankers on the list as well - so not all targets are COMBAT targets.

Finally, a Su-25 armed for CAS.

Strategic strikes are effective, but the results are not overtly apparent. Hopefully the air crews and FAC's have enough experience now to start being used on the fronts. A big reason why the SAA/NDF don't stick around to fight is because there's simply no help coming.

It still is a Mortar round. Improbable to have been used for any aerial bomb. This might be from ISIS shelling. not the actual bombing. After looking at the footage, there' actually a lot of well aimed damage, at least 4/5 bmp's and their crews. I see 4 small craters that have pepperd the BMP's and troops. Stil very weird.

Well, it could have been mortar fuse used on some improvised missile.

That too, but that would mean the airstrike never happened. A very elaborate ploy from ISIS to stir things up, firing missiles on the base, while planes were flying overhead...that would be something.

I wonder whether they are reinforcing the air group or as mentioned previously, maybe rotating aircraft

Leith Abou Fadel is reporting that the SAA are in Hawareen just N of Maheen, and the RuAF is bombing Maheen and Quraytayn.

What about this second airforce base? Do we have any info as to what is flying in and out of this new base?

We're not even sure that the RuAF is even at Shayrat. And IMO, the less we know about it, the better.

Can you beat the C-400 in Syria: Correspondence call the American and Russian military experts

Since then, as Russia deployed anti-aircraft missile system S-400 "Triumph" in Syria, in the foreign media do not cease talking about how effective the system is, and how to combat it. Military expert Tyler horns to speculate on this topic in his blog Foxtrot Alpha, and Michael Hodarёnok, a military expert and chief editor of "Military-Industrial Courier", commented his record.

Tyler horns in his blog said that some US military experts and military journalists believe that the panacea for the C-400 can be called a new electronic-warfare aircraft Boeing EA-18 Growler, but it is not. Separately taken the aircraft is unlikely to completely suppress all electronic warfare anti-aircraft missile regiment equipped with a C-400 air defense missile systems, while the "Triumph" will be quite able to hit missiles Growler queue, if it is in the affected area at least one of the divisions.

"The unique capabilities of the United States in the field of electronic warfare (EW) and the suppression of radar stations include not only the Growler, and many other support platforms and systems. This is a complex ecosystem of weapons and sensors include intelligence lethal devices, cyber warfare and hacking, the active suppression of air defense weapons and attacking enemy aircraft and subtle long-range ammunition used out of range of enemy weapons. The last two are effective particularly when applied together, adding funds EW "- he writes horns.

Michael Hodarёnok agrees with this statement, noting the high training and professionalism in the conduct of American electronic warfare: "The United States - the master of conducting electronic warfare. They have the most advanced technology for jamming. From conflict to conflict, they are not repeated, and they probably have some sort of a surprise, is already prepared for the next opponent. " Organized interference, indeed, the most terrible weapon for anti-aircraft missiles. Hodarёnok recalls that Turkey has stated that they have deployed ground stations EW Koral. But their tactical and technical characteristics of the unknown.

Glavred "Military-Industrial Courier" notes that guarantee the suppression of the S-400 system, Koral and Growler aircraft can not be: "This is an equation with many unknowns. What kind of interference? From what distance? With what intensity? How much power? With a bearing? On what frequencies? How exactly radio-electronic means, it is placed? "

Judge Tyler Rogov argues that the destruction of air defense systems, disposing of S-400, the perceived enemy, you need to use a range of different instruments of war. Thus, it is intended to combine the work of stealth aircraft with long-range supplies, running normal (not stealth) aircraft with hidden platforms and much more. "For example, F-16 can fly up to a distance of the radius of destruction of high-precision cruise missile of class" air-to-surface »AGM-158 JASSM, and the F-35 - in the distance hit small bomb. If we add to this noise suppression, these distances are reduced, depending on the tactics and ongoing technical and material resources to implement this tactic. The problem is that against a serious contender will have to take into account that he is not one area of launchers and a radar, but a whole set of different systems, including both lethal machines, and air defense missile systems. "

However, Mikhail Hodarёnok recalls that the S-400 - this is not the ultimate weapon, and it should be used in conjunction with other branches of the armed forces and the armed services. "If it works Growler, it is primarily the task of the defeat of the aircraft to be delivered EW fighter aircraft. If the noise generated from ground stations EW, then it is necessary to bomb assault strikes or hit them with fire long-range artillery and missile forces. That is, it is necessary to create conditions for the implementation of air defense missile systems, 400 combat missions, "- the expert continues.

American specialist pays much attention to the work at a safe distance out of range combat weapons of the enemy: "Opportunities detection devices PVO only get better, as well as increasing the radius of destruction of missiles" ground-to-air ", so may have to use a hidden long-range missiles, united into a single network. Or stealth long-range aircraft and other methods, including the suppression (in the distance), to weaken, and ultimately destroy the air defense system. As a result, working out of reach of enemy weapons, you can weaken its defenses. Then, for example, you can fly up close and use stealth fighter with medium-range missiles rather than run long-range missiles from afar. At the same time, conventional (non-stealth) aircraft can attack long-range missiles, thus freeing up space for stealth attacks. But drones, decoys by means of electronic warfare on the board can be used together with the attacking combat units to go deep into enemy territory, on the way disabling of air defense. "

Hodarёnok reiterates that the combat use of the S-400 also need to be considered in the complex, under the previously established system of defense. "In particular, in Syria treheshelonnaya built anti-missile defense. On the outer reaches operating S-400, in the middle range - SAM "Buk-M2", and IRC «shell-C1" performs the task already at the approaches to the protected object. This is a fairly stable group ", - he said. Glavred "Military-Industrial Courier" doubts and approval about the work of the enemy at a safe distance, "firstly, the affected area from the S-400 is large enough, and secondly, a missed goal can pick up" Buck "or" armor ".

    Terms of use of C-400

According to Michael Hodarёnka, S-400 air defense systems and other means can be applied in only two cases. The first - a variant of the full-scale military conflict, "if it will be applied only in terms of a hypothetical armed conflict with the United States and Turkey, which is not included in the plans of neither the first nor the second. But in general, this situation should be viewed as extremely unlikely. "

The second event occurs in the case of violation of the Syrian border in the airspace of aircraft of other states. There Hodarёnok has in mind first of all Turkey. However, it stresses that this is only possible if the Turkish fighter delve into Syrian airspace. "This feature has been appreciated by both the Americans and the Turks. Turks stopped flights and strikes against Syria, as there is a high probability that in this case they will be destroyed by fire S-400 ", - he said.

At the same time, Russian military expert points out that any loss of the aircraft fire SAM / AAMS may have unpredictable consequences. For example, if the aircraft will be released the rocket, he can perform an anti-missile maneuver to turn around, fly back to their territory, missiles can catch up with him (their speed - about 2 km / s), and the fighter will fall in Turkey and could destroy at that some extremely significant civilian object. At the same time, if it violates the state border will be hit and fall to the territory of Syria, that "all the international standards, we have the right to open fire and destruction of the offending aircraft. This scenario is most likely. "

As for the incident with a black Su-24, Mikhail Hodarёnok implies that if the S-400 at that time had already been deployed in Syria, that attacks on Russian aircraft could not be.

Turkey says patience with Russia has its limits

    MOSCOW (AP)
    2:05 p.m.

Turkey's foreign minister says his country is refraining from responding to Russian efforts to hit back at Turkey over its downing of a Russian jet, but says the country's patience is not without limits. Mevlut Cavusoglu said Friday that Turkey wants to overcome tensions with Russia but that Moscow is using "every opportunity" to hit at Turkey.

No signs of new RuAF presence in Shayrat air base. The Hinds could be either Syrian or forward-deployed from Latakia. Officially the Russians deny any presence there. This could be preparations for Iranian deployment.

"The Fourth Division of the Syrian army has been equipped with at least 6 modern T-90MS Tagil tanks, provided by the Russian Federation. Their function is to help the Syrian Arab Army advance in the southern province of Aleppo.

The exact date of their deployment in Syria is shrouded in mystery. Some say they have been on the ground since early September, other sources indicate their presence as a new development thanks to recent agreements between Damascus and Moscow, including rumors of a delivery of the S -300 to the Syrian Arab Republic."

The fcuk? Sure Soviet Auxiliary Army it is. Happy hunting to the boys if true.

But really, if the Russians commit ground troops, I'm not against. At all. To those who claim Afghanistan 2.0, maybe they should check again. Right now it's Somalia in Syria. If this can become Afghanistan circa 1988, it would be a damn progress.

IMHO it is a stupid idea and a sure fire way to lose all support for this war at home. This is Syrian land, let Syrians bleed for it.

That must be the SAF upgrading that base if this is what Moscow said on Wednesday via RT Rolling Eyes

We really do need an up to date photo, like the US/NATO has.

The Russian Defense Ministry has quashed rumors about setting up another military base in Syria. There is “no operational need” to establish a new installation as Russian warplanes can already easily reach the farthest parts of Syria, an MoD spokesman said.

Last week reports emerged about a Russian task force preparing to be deployed at Shayrat military airfield in Syria’s Homs province. “You don’t need to be a serious military expert to understand that it takes only a 30-40 minute flight to the furthest Syrian location from the [existing] Khmeimim military airfield hosting the Russian Air Force,” Major General Igor Konashenkov, a Defense Ministry spokesman, told a media briefing on Wednesday.

“There is no operational need to deploy a new Russian airbase on Syrian territory,” Konashenkov added.
