MOSCOW, October 1 (Sputnik) – Russia’s first joint tactical air exercises with Serbia will kick off on Friday in southern Russia near the Caspian Sea, the Russian Defense Ministry said Thursday.

"First joint Russian-Serbian tactical air exercise – BARS-2015 – will be conducted at the Ashuluk range with the Russian Aerospace Forces and the Serbian Air Force," the ministry announced on its website.

Crews of the Mikoyan MiG-29 (NATO reporting name Fulcrum) will practice aerial target interception and elimination, as well as airstrikes on ground-based targets, according to the statement. Pilots of the Mil Mi-8 (Hip) helicopters will fire unguided rockets.

The Serbian Air Force operates up to eight Mi-8T helicopters and three MiG-29s.

The Russian-Serbian BARS-2015 drills at the Ashuluk range of the Astrakhan Region are scheduled to wrap up October 9.

In 19th century it was common to make medals made of old enemy rifles and cannons. Maybe you serbs should make medals made of F-117, F-16, AH-64, Tornado, Phantoms and whatever you have shot down. That would be far greater honor to the owner then having the medal itself, but made of the rest of pieces of our all enemy.

We Serbs did something abit different which reminds alot of what you just said. Hope you find it amusing.

Oplenac is church where members of your Karadjordjevic Royal family members are being buried. In that church there is one huge chandelier in shape of crown put upside down it has 9m in diameter and weights 1500kg, its symbol of our defeat in 1389. aganist Turks, however other symbolism is fact that it was made from broze taken out of our enemy guns during 1912-1918. wars. Symbolism of our rise.

Our military graveyard in Greece, Thessaloniki named Zejtinlik also has similar item in its chapel, just made out of shell casings.

But i like your idea, we have quite a few parts of F117A and F16 left around for it Smile Even Predator Very Happy

Rogozin in Belgrade today. Couple of good pieces, first two 'stuff you Turkey' items and then 'take this NATO' some (a minimum number) keep out of our airspace S-300s.

BELGRADE (Sputnik) — Serbian agricultural producers can replace Turkey in the Russian produce market, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin said Monday. Earlier in the day, Rogozin met with Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic and discussed a number of bilateral economic issues during his visit to the Serbian capital of Belgrade. The visit came after Russia's decree on economic restrictions against Turkey, including a food import ban on some products, came into force at the beginning of the month.

"Today, I addressed Mr. Aleksandar Vucic with a proposal to send the minister of agriculture or some high ranking employee from the [agriculture] ministry to Moscow, in order to directly conduct talks on a multiple increase in agricultural products flow, in demand in the Russian market," Rogozin said at a press conference during his visit to Belgrade. Serbia managed to double its exports of agricultural products to Russia in 2015, however, "it is still not enough," the official added.

According to the deputy prime minister, there is great potential for Serbian companies in the Russian construction market. "The Serbian construction industry has acquired great opportunities in Russian construction business since January 1," Rogozin said.

BELGRADE (Sputnik) — Moscow is considering transferring the manufacturing of components for the major Russian carmakers KAMAZ and AVTOVAZ from Turkey to Serbia, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin said Monday.

"Up until now, these car components were manufactured in Turkey. We believe that the Serbian [auto] industry is capable of producing them. This will also bring the Serbian economy serious financial dividends," Rogozin said.

Dmitry Rogozin, the Russian deputy prime minister said that the final decision on the matter of Serbian request to buy Russian arms would be made based on the "necessity to maintain Serbia’s security at the minimal sufficient level with regard to its needs."

BELGRADE (Sputnik) — Russia is closely studying a request for defensive weapons filed by Serbia in the face of increased risks to the Balkan state’s national security, the Russian deputy prime minister said Monday. Rogozin stressed that the final decision on the matter would be made based on the "necessity to maintain Serbia’s security at the minimal sufficient level with regard to its needs."

He said that high-precision weapons in question were "not offensive ones but those capable of removing any risks of an attack on Serbia." Rogozin was in the Serbian capital of Belgrade on Monday where he met with Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic. He presented the head of the Serbian government with a mock-up of a Russia-made S-300 air defense system.

    Similar news, from TASS

    http://tass.ru/en/defense/848821

Russia will look into technical details of Serbia’s inquiry for the purchase of armament and S-300 air defense missile systems.

Serbia works on strengthening its military potential, Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic said on Monday after meeting with visiting Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin, noting that Serbia would never attack anyone but should be able to defend its citizens.

"We are intensifying our [military] production," Vucic told reporters after the talks that focused on military-technical cooperation, marking that Serbia was favoring peace and stability in the region and an improvement in ties with all its neighbours.

"Serbia will never attack anyone, but we must be ready any moment to defend our territory and our citizens," he went on.

"We keep silent, doing nothing to the threats from those who don’t refuse to buy very strong offensive weapons ," he said referring to the neighboring Croatia. Vucic also thanked Russia for respecting Serbia’s decision to be a military neutral state

"Ballistic missiles and launching equipment that Croatia plans to buy have a range of 300 and 350 kilometers. Any place in central Serbia can be targeted from Zagreb or any other place," the prime minister said.

Speaking about prospects for military-technical partnership with Russia, he said "the Russian side was prudent and concrete in offering better terms than anybody else", adding that the two countries were facing months and years of discussion on that. According to him, Russia’s S-300 missile systems were "too costly" for Serbia, but Russia had expressed a bid to help through certain agreements.

Dmitry Rogozin said Russia would look into technical details of Serbia’s inquiry for the purchase of armament and S-300. "We will render direct support to our ally in the Balkans. We will shortly consider your inquiries," he pledged.

Rogozin said Russia was not interfering in the issues related to security of Serbia, which had the right to buy highly efficient non-offensive weapons. "How does Serbia assess its situation with security? This is its personal business, we are reviewing only technical details," he added.

Vucic once again confirmed that Serbia was meeting all its commitments on the path towards the EU accession, but was not going to impose sanctions against Russia.

For incorporation of Crimea after last year’s coup in Ukraine, Russia came under sanctions on the part of the United States and many European countries. The restrictive measures were then intensified following Western and Ukrainian claims that Russia supported militias in self-proclaimed republics in Ukraine’s southeast and was involved in destabilization of Ukraine.

The Council of the European Union formally extended sanctions against Russia by six months in December, thus endorsing the decision agreed by the envoys of the 28 EU member-countries on December 18. "On December 21, 2015, the Council extended the economic sanctions against Russia until July 31, 2016," the Council said in a statement.

What's wrong with current Serbian gubmint nowadays ?

They look openly western traitorous types now.

Serbian official to Russian: Mind own business over EU bid

    http://news.yahoo.com/serbian-official-russian-mind-own-business-over-eu-155803492.html

So Rogozin is in Belgrad talking some sense about EU and this vice-pm guy gal pretty much spit on his face , not funny:

During his three-day visit, Rogozin said Russia is ready to arm Serbia with sophisticated weapons, which could be at odds with Belgrade's desire to join the EU. He also tried to discourage Serbia from membership in the 28-nation bloc.

"There is nothing more terrifying than the European bureaucracy," Rogozin said. "Soviet-era bureaucrats are just kids compared with Europe's. And the rules of the game are such that they erode your national identity."

"Serbian deputy premier Zorana Mihajlovic retorted Wednesday: "Regarding the scenario Rogozin is predicting, I think he should take care of his own country and we will take care of ours."

Looks like Serbia is more pro EU now than Poland , what gives ?

Couple years more with that sort of guys and there will be no Russia-Serbia partnership but Serbia in EU and friggin' NATO.

    Band's name: Wolf's Hunger
    Country: Serbia

    My...translation of a sort:

    Russia

From the Far east to the cold North
    there my second Motherland lays
    where winter bites everything
there is the one and biggest
    Russia!

Where horizons do not have end
    where snow is eternal
where all swords and spears get broken
    my second Motherland
    Russia!

As their own always took us
    Serbian refuges always embraced
far away blue circle with star in it
    my second Motherland
    Russia!

Certain (not very legit) sources in Serbia claim that Serbia and Russia finally agreed on delivery of 6 MiG-29s from the Russian service. Machines were allegedly chosen by the Serbian technicians and will be additionally overhauled to match 10 year lifespan, to serve to 2027. Also allegedly overhaul cost was reduced from 45 to 20 million USD on request by Sergey Shoygu.

Same sources claim there are additional negotiations underway (half of which is out of the question to be true):

    Buk-M2 (2 batteries) - maybe.. long stick

    T-72B3 (30 tanks) - not happening

AN-26 (2) - possible but i rather expect its about overhaul of two existing we already have

BRD-M2(?) - BRDM-2? Allegedly 30 of these, whatever they are

    Mi-24V (4) - maybe, but not likely

    Tor + Tunguska - Doubtful

Kornet-E - Doubtful as they mentioned Konkurs might be obtained to be integrated on Lazar 2

    OTR-21 Tochka - not happening
