Funny and sad.  Sad that instead of investing in their own engine designs which do exist, they are opting for Chinese one.  But what makes it funny is that it is a German engine and is licensed build in China.  So in other words, they are getting a German engine again.

Pending the construction of two border patrol ships of project 22100

General Director of JSC "Zelenodolsk Plant named after AM Gorky", Renat Mistahov, on November 20, 2015, told reporters that the Border Service of Russia has postponed the conclusion of the contract for the construction in the enterprise for two large border patrol ships (PSKR) 1st rank Project 22100 (code "Ocean") - fourth and fifth in the series.

According to Kazan Web resource "Real time", according to R. Mistahova, Zelenodolsk plant under construction PSKR Project 22100 "is faced with two main problems - import substitution and the lack of financing. In connection with the latter was delayed the start of construction of two ships of this series. It is expected that the contract for the construction of the second installment will be signed in the 2017-2018 year. Now the ships under construction are also headaches, because they are completely installed Russian equipment. This will ensure that all tests must be performed again. "

Recall that the lead ship of the project 22100 "Polar Star" (serial number 111) was built by JSC "Zelenodolsk Plant named after AM Gorky" contract with the FSB Russia on November 26, 2011. PSKR "Polar Star" was founded May 30, 2012, launched on 21 May 2014, in May 2015 the ship was towed by inland waterways from Zelenodol'sk in St. Petersburg and then in Kronstadt where the October 9 started factory sea trials .

Earlier it was reported that the Russian Coast Guard plans, in addition to the lead ship, ordered a total of five ships of this project. April 24, 2015 the Border Service of Russia has signed contracts with Zelenodolsk plant to build the next two (second and third) PSKR 1st rank Project 22100 with serial numbers 112 and 113. Both ships should be delivered to the December 1, 2019 in Murmansk. The cost of each PSKR defined in 8.663772636 billion. PSKR serial number 112, was officially founded in Zelenodolsk June 15, 2015, actual construction of the ship, and the next.

Border guards detain vessel flying Cambodia flag near Crimean coast — FSB

The vessel violated the regime of the state border of Russia, that is, deviated from the recommended course and dropped anchor on roads in the village of Chernomorskoye without permission

SIMFEROPOL, January 5. /TASS/. The Don escort vessel of the Russian Federal Security Service’s (FSB) Crimean Border Department has detained a dry cargo ship flying the flag of Cambodia in Russia’s territorial waters in the Black Sea.
"The vessel violated the regime of the state border of the Russian Federation, that is, deviated from the recommended course and dropped anchor on roads in the village of Chernomorskoye without permission of the port services," the department said.
According to the FSB, the incident occurred January 3. The vessel’s captain, a Ukrainian national born in 1970, has been brought to administrative account under the article "Violation of the Russian Federation’s state border regime." The ship’s owner faces a fine of up to 50,000 rubles ($681).
The St. George vessel’s home port is Phnom Penh, it was bound from Rostov-on-Don to Varna. On the evening of the same day, the dry cargo ship was deported from Russia’s territorial waters, the department said.
The Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol, a city with a special status on the Crimean Peninsula, where most residents are Russians, refused to recognize the legitimacy of authorities brought to power amid riots during a coup in Ukraine in February 2014.
Crimea and Sevastopol adopted declarations of independence on March 11, 2014. They held a referendum on March 16, 2014, in which 96.77% of Crimeans and 95.6% of Sevastopol voters chose to secede from Ukraine and join the Russian Federation. Russian President Vladimir Putin signed the reunification deals March 18, 2014.
Despite Moscow’s repeated statements that the Crimean referendum on secession from Ukraine was in line with the international law and the UN Charter and in conformity with the precedent set by Kosovo’s secession from Serbia in 2008, the West and Kiev have refused to recognize the legality of Crimea’s reunification with Russia.
Work to integrate the Crimean Peninsula into Russia’s economic, financial, credit, legal, state power, military conscription and infrastructure systems has been actively underway since Crimea acceded to the Russian Federation.

President Putin sends congratulations on Russian Border Guards’ Day

"Throughout centuries-long history of our country, the defenders of its borders have always served honorably in the line of their duty," said a message of congratulations posted on the Kremlin website

MOSCOW, May 28. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin has congratulated military, civilian personnel and veterans of the Border Service of the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) who mark on Saturday the Border Guards’ Day.

"Throughout centuries-long history of our country, the defenders of its borders have always served honorably in the line of their duty, demonstrating at all times courage and staunchness, devotedness to their Fatherland," said a message of congratulations posted on the Kremlin website on Saturday.

"And of course, we will always remember an unprecedented feat of soldiers and officers of frontier posts during the Great Patriotic War, who 75 years ago were the first to face the attack of a cruel enemy and fought courageously for every inch of their land," Putin said.

"It is important that the present generation of border guards worthily continues best traditions of their predecessors, solving efficiently and at a high professional level the demanding challenges facing them in fight against international terrorism, drug threat, transnational crime and illegal migration, firmly guarding the state borders of Russia," he said.

Will likely have RPGs and small arms on board for engaging threats...

Together with the 30mm gatling on the nose and likely HMG like Kord or KPV mounts around the place they should be able to get most vessels to stop on demand.

Of course the speed boats and helicopter are probably "armed" too.

For the Helo a Ka-29 with rocket pods and ATGMs and light cannon would also be very persuasive too.

Uran missiles are too expensive for a simple patrol boat.

    And of little use.

The extra equipment just to actually be able to use Uran would make the boat 2-3 times more expensive... might as well fit Rif while you are at it...

This patrol boat will be dealing with yachts and fishing boats... the 30mm gun on the nose is probably already over kill as most of the time they will simply land a group of soldiers on the target boat in question and take her over...
