If our ips show up to the admins, and I imagine they do, then NSA knows where we are...& who our provider is...

Yes, but the issue for them while spying on 2 bln people is, to filter all that information to get only those informations they actually need. That means they have hundreds of bots and computers all processing voice, chat and pictures with face recognition and creating profiles. Do not add pictures to the internet, do not talk about politics, do not visit certain sides, do not use keywords, do not get Windows 10, apple or other products and the chances that they will gather your information and actually find those information and presenting those information to an actual NSA agent, takes all time or shrinks very low.

Of course they also have nice tools, where people are so friendly and kind enough to give and process all informations about them to CIA/NSA freely aka Twitter,Facebook, Instragram and co. Post your names, your locations, use always a GPS functional smartphone that tracks your daily route and locations, upload pictures of you and network of your friends, family and others. Best thing for NSA is google, Facebook, Twitter and other asocial profiling software.

They have the capabilities to spy on everyone, but not the capability to process even a 1% of it. Other secret services, listen to only actual suspects, people with connections, political, military or economical power, some lower shits of politicians like Nuland and Paet conspiracy talks of Ukraine overthrow etc.

I liked it better when I lived 16 miles from town, and all we had was a telephone and one radio. & the US government wasn't spying on it's citizens.

Or when I was younger than that and the only person listening to you was some nosy person on the phone's "party line", i.e. several different persons had to share the same phone line.
