This January 20, they arrived at the air base "El Libertador" three Cougar helicopters AC532 on board an Antonov 124 aircraft after the inspection Mayor "G" by the company Airbus Helicopters held in the city of Marignane France, these devices belong to the Special Operations Group No. 10, increasing the operational readiness of the Bolivarian Military Aviation and strengthening of air operations in support of ensuring the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the nation.
These works of modernization and upgrading inspection have been carried out since 2011 through contracts with the company Airbus Helicopters and Turbomeca-Ceknol under the supervision of the Directorate of Procurement Logistics Air Command, by Col. . José Lareo and Tcnel. Freddy White, chief of the contract by the team that performed an impressive job in monitoring the work consisting in the total dismantling of the components of the aircraft in order to perform a detailed review of its structure, ensuring life this system for 12 years, in order to meet special search and rescue, firefighting and medical evacuations.
