Cambodian Army Handover Ceremony of 290 Chinese Trucks SAIC-Iveco Hongyan

On June 19, 2020, in the capital of the Kingdom of Cambodia, Phnom Penh, in the presence of the highest command of the Cambodian army, represented by the commander of the ground forces, Lieutenant General Man Manet, the ceremony of handing over 290 army trucks manufactured by the Chinese company SAIC-Iveco Hongyan was held.

SAIC-Iveco Hongyan is a Sino-Italian joint venture headquartered in Chongqing. On the Chinese side, the company includes SAIC motor corporation, the state-owned automobile manufacturer, the largest automobile manufacturing and exporting company in the country; it accounts for a quarter of car sales in China.

The automobile plant of the joint venture with the Italian IVECO company began operations in 2009. The capacity of the assembly line is 40,000 car kits per year.

The cost of delivered vehicles to Cambodia is not reported.

On the bmpd side, we add that the purchase of these 290 cars was made by Cambodia from extrabudgetary sources, due to the "initiative" of Cambodian Prime Minister Hong Sung by Cambodian companies "charitable donations" to a special fund. A contract worth about $ 40 million for the purchase of these cars was signed in the summer of 2019, but their delivery was delayed for several months due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Cambodia will receive Chinese FTC-2000G aircraft

    January 23rd, 6:18
According to the Thai web resource TAF , Cambodia will receive the first Chinese FTC-2000G combat trainers in 2021 as part of the contract concluded with the Chinese side in early 2020. Cambodian personnel underwent training for these aircraft in China in 2020. It is known that deliveries under the contract will take place in 2021-2023, the exact number of FTC-2000G aircraft ordered by Cambodia was not reported, but, presumably, equal to six.

Cambodia ditches USA made weapons. As military personnel sanctioned. To note USA also did the same to Ugandan Generals recently. And Ethiopia now no longer trust the USA because of involvement during the troubles there. So this only means that those countries will now either buy Chinese or Russian arms most likely.

And quote from the article and so true it is.

"if you want to be independent in the field of defence, do not use American weapons"
