Search engines (Google-Yahoo-Pirate bay-others) Empty The Pirate Bay Relocates to a Nuclear Bunker

Post  sepheronx Thu Oct 08, 2009 11:26 am

After being chased by various anti-piracy groups, The Pirate Bay returned a few hours ago. “Nobody puts The Pirate Bay in a corner,” they say on their frontpage, referencing Patrick Swayze’s famous line in Dirty Dancing. Not in a corner, no, but what about a bunker?

Last Friday we reported that The Pirate Bay was forced to move outside of Sweden, and that the world’s largest BitTorrent tracker had found a new home in the Ukraine. Unfortunately this was a short-lived solution, with TPB now moving to Cyberbunker.

CyberBunker is located in a former military nuclear warfare bunker in The Netherlands. The facility was built by NATO in the 50s to survive a nuclear war, but after the nuclear threats were over it was sold to its current owners. The bunker is now used as a webhosting data center.

The bunker is equipped with Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP) shielding and Nuclear/Biological/Chemical (NBC) air filtration to guarantee that the servers they host stay up no matter what happens. As of this week it is also the new home of The Pirate Bay.

It is a real shame PB has to run from Hollywood lawyers. They should go to China considerng they don't respect any intellectual property rights. xaxa

Have you guys noticed how bad the search function is, even if you use the advanced search and give enough information that even yahoo would find the article or the posts by certain users without problems?

Sometimes i try to re-find on this forum posts about certain topics because a friend asked for something specific or because of a descussion with someone and you can provide to the search criterias the Weapon designation which was used more than once in this forum, or specific words that were used and you still remember that would be enough to narrow down the posts to a few and give you the information and posts/threads you looked for. Sometimes, actually more than sometimes we get Off-topic in a thread and start to talk about different weapon systemes, or reports or statistics or whatever, which makes it afterwards after month hard to remember in which thread you have read the stuff you looking for.

Is there anyone else that shares the bad experience with the search function or have i a missperception?

It looks about the same as the old search system...

Click on the Advanced Search link and type in a few words in the box where it says search for keywords and then click the search google button.

I am not sure if I understand your request properly but I don't think anyone of us can download Yandex here. If that's what you are asking.

If you click the link that you have provided you will see a Yellow Button with the word "скачать" written on it. That is Russian for download. Once you click, you will get 2 options : Version for Linux (deb, x64) and Version for Linux (rpm, x64). Choose the one that corresponds to your system. This will download the Yandex.deb file.

Moreover your link clearly states that this is a Yandex version for Linux " Встречайте первую бету для Linux".

Thx very much, unfortunetly I could not use it, as my computer is rather x32, I will have to wait. In this time of massive spying, the Yandex browser could help to be less spied. If you are aware about a new version for x32 please tell us.

It(x32) exists for Windows , but since you are using Linux it probably is of no use.

You can contact Yandex Customer Center, they generally reply within 4-5 days

One more thing. For services in English, Yandex has its servers in UK not Russia. So I am not sure to what extent your data cannot be hacked by the bad guys.
