    Hi all,

    Yet another immigrant from MP.net, I am a Pole who likes Russia and idea of Panslavism. And military of course :-)) Mildly speaking I am not a big fan of US sponsored coup in 89. Much preferred relations before 89.

    He had to counter the John Birch Society, Joseph McCarthy style Russophobic paranoia on that website...had the mods and members been more laid back and neutral than it would of been 'far' more out of place and cringe-worthy to respond in such a manner.

    That level of far right-wing paranoia is highly reminiscent of certain hard-line movements that grew in Europe in the 1920-30's...just replace Russians with Jews, and you'll quickly know where I'm going with this.

    Funny you mention that... when I was at university at the turn of the century when they were making the first few movies there was an advert on campus for extras to go up central Otago to be in the film... I really regret not going... they wanted pretty blonde people of which I am neither, but they wanted tall people, which I sort of am...

    Would have been a real adventure... of course the life of an extra seems to be fairly tedious and boring, but I might have met some of the makers of the weapons and armour too... Twisted Evil
