The Ju 87 C was a version of the famous dive bomber Stuka proposal to operate with German aircraft carrier Graf Zeppelin. The link below provides more information and pictures of this uncommon version of the Ju 87 Stuka. Hope you enjoy and I count on your visit.

The Luftwaffe had some very interesting aircraft in their fleet, bummer that many didn't even see the light of day. Thanks for posting and keep it up.

Don't you think the scores of German WWII fighter pilots were just propaganda? Is there any proof of the claims?

Soviet air losses would say different, the Luftwaffe did doubt his claims and sent up several observers to watch him in action, his tactics was to get in close before firing ... the Soviets called him the blonde devil

The reported scores of some German pilots sound astounding... 400-500 kills, but keep in mind they wiped out the air forces of several countries like Poland and Czechoslovakia etc etc and these kills include all aircraft... slow transports and bombers... obsolete biplanes... most enemy pilots didn't survive long enough to get the experience they needed to survive with little or no serious or effective fight training... as opposed to flight training which got them into the air...

And they count they kills in strange ways...Ie shooting bomber with 4 engines will be count as 4 kills. Am I rite? Wink

I believe so... and also if two or three pilots shot at a bomber or large aircraft and it goes down because of the damage then both or all three pilots will claim the kill....

Well, no. Germans counted 1 aircraft = 1 kill. Even if shooting down a four engined bomber perhaps should count for more than a single engined fighter...but I digress.

And of course the Luftwaffe overclaimed. All Air Forces in WWII overclaimed, sometimes 10-1 or more. But the aces probably overclaimed the least, having plenty of experience and lots of opportunities to score. Think Hartmann actually flew over 1000 missions during his career, and was himself shot down (by AAA) many times.

Yes, the Germans had plenty of very capable and very skilled pilots, but the numbers they were fighting were simply overwhelming.

I think Anthony Williams wrote an article about the armament of WWII fighters and compared the armament of Soviet and German and western fighters and found that the Soviet policy of engine mounted weapons with a few cannon was similar to the armament of German fighters, while western practise of lots of guns on the wings seemed to be more popular with rookie pilots.

In other words an ace would perform better with guns around the centre of mass concentrated firing forward with cannons mostly, while new pilots tended to like just having lots and lots of guns... ie 8 on the wings...

Problem for the Soviets was that you had to survive long enough to benefit from the accuracy and power of that weapon arrangement... many did not so lend lease aircraft were often popular with new pilots.

Ironically the gun armament of Soviet fighters was very highly regarded... high rates of fire, light weight weapons, and very effective cannon.

the folded wings was the version for the Graf Zepplin Aircraft carrier rows between the Luftwaffe and Kriegsmarine on who would have overall control of the pilots and aircraft resulted in the Graf Zepplin never becoming operational ... in a way Hitler was responsible for this for promoting completion between different sections of the German armed forces .... in a way it severely hampered their war efforts thumbsup

A significant portion of the Polish Air Force in 1939 (contrary to some claims) was destroyed on the ground during the first day of the war.

And the Polish fighter planes were too outdated and obsolete, to be even a match for their German counterparts.

If you take into account that the Germans had far more much more modern planes, they did not have to had good fighter pilots to win.

As for the German pilots' claims, even Goring doubted them.

    I guess that says volumes.

Photos of the Luftwaffe in WW2 Empty A fast and unusual German

    Post  pampa14 Sat Aug 29, 2015 3:45 pm

The link below provides a full report and pictures of one of the fastest aircraft of its class, but never went into production. We are talking about the Heinkel He 119. If it had been produced and participated in WW2 its performance would have changed in some way the course of the war? What do you think? Click on the link below and take your own conclusions.

Photos of the Luftwaffe in WW2 Empty The most secret weapon of the Luftwaffe

    Post  pampa14 Sat Nov 07, 2015 12:23 pm

I share with you a lot of pictures, some of them previously unreleased, rare and never before seen by me, referring to one of the secret weapons of the Luftwaffe. We are talking about the Horten flying wing. Perhaps, the aircraft of the Second World War the most ahead of its time than any other, went into production too late to be put into service. Do you think if he had gone into production would have changed the course of the war and history? Visit the link below and give us your opinion about it.

Photos of the Luftwaffe in WW2 Empty An uncommon sight in Europe's skies

    Post  pampa14 Sun Nov 15, 2015 3:06 pm

I share with you an interesting collection of pictures showing one of the projects launched at the end of World War II by Germany as part of its war effort to try to avoid the increasingly Allied bombing. The big question remains whether this rocket plane had been built in greater quantities and earlier would have changed the final outcome? What do you think? Visit the link below, see photos and give your opinion about it.

ah the natter ... doubt it would have changed the outcome of the war ... it was too crude a design and it's rocket engine would have made it to fast to target allied bombers properly ... the ME262 could have been the weapon/airplane to have turned round the war for the Nazis thankfully Hitler interfered in it's design and production just like he did with the MP43/44 SturmGewhr
