    Favorite Soviet Music Thread

Post  Mike E on Wed Mar 25, 2015 9:40 pm

Title says it all folks... List your favorite music from the CCCP!

    Here's mine:
    - KINO - Zvezda Po Imeni Solntse
    Машина Времени - Поворот
    Дисплей - Иностранка
    Boris Tihomirov - Elektronnyi Budilnik
That's it.. for now. I like how the Soviet music of the 80's was comparable to our music in the 70's. Makes it that much more interesting to listen to.

    Day of Pioneers

Post  Khepesh on Tue May 19, 2015 9:46 am

19 May is the Day of Pioneers

Both songs have military origin, the Pioneers song "Vzveytes kostrami, siniye nochi" is from a march and of course "Orlyonok" is about the civil war.

Clearly this one is my favorite.  But Cossack song is held dear to me since my great grandfather was a Cossack.

Massively popular in late 80s. Changes were needed, but Eltsin was not foreseen....

Also from the 80s was this extremely popular song from TV show "Гостья из будущего" [Guest from the Future] about hope for better and wonderful future. It could be argued it had a psychological effect on many that is still felt today.
