I think you'll find the Angara pad is not in the shot (would be located at a bearing of ~10 o'clock).  That cleared patch was (I believe) associated with Soyuz pad construction, eg vehicle depot, construction village, stores etc, now demobilised but probably used for hard-stand and operations equipment. Zaks site has a decent plan layout:

Agreed! Awesome stuff & thanks for posting! Vostochny looks magic in the summer when the suns out. All of those spite-filled wankers who have been shit-canning the project should be feeling pretty damn small right now (but won't be most likely, just feeling bitter).

Good news. Russia is expanding the data from orbit transfer capacity. This is not a trivial thing. One of the pains in operating various geophysical
measurement satellites is the lack of enough downlink bandwidth. So lots of data is trashed without ever being analyzed.

There is very limited number of people who handled that particular component during installation. They need to go trough work logs, get the list and start attaching jumper cables to some testicles until someone squeals.

How hard it is to install something in upright position? Six-graders I teach would do better job than those clowns.

One more thing about Fregat upper stage:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lavochkin

NPO Lavochkin.....the developer and manufacturer of the Fregat upper stage, as well as interplanetary probes such as Fobos-Grunt....

Fobos-Grunt. Ring a bell? Ring a fucking bell? What was the cause of that fuckup again?

They better get their fucking shit in order ASAP because next launch is in one month and they also have 8 launches slated for next year, five of those commercial.

Second launch pad at Vostochny spaceport may take 45 months to build

A contract for building the launch pad will be signed in the near future

MOSCOW, August 16. /TASS/. The Vostochny spaceport’s second launch pad for the Angara rocket may take 45 months to build, the CEO of the Roscosmos corporation, Dmitry Rogozin, told TASS in an interview.
A contract for building the launch pad will be signed in the near future.

"It will identify the deadlines for completing the construction work and for beginning partial and comprehensive tests," Rogozin said.

At the moment the Vostochny spaceport has only one launch pad for the Soyuz-2 family of space rockets. Three launches have been carried out from it so far. The other launch pad will be used for all configurations of the Angara rockets. The first launch from it is due in 2022. About 38 billion rubles ($570 million) is to be spent on building the ground infrastructure for Angara rockets.

Russia launches 2nd stage of Vostochny spaceport construction

KUBINKA /Moscow Region/, August 21. /TASS/. The construction of a launch pad for the Angara carrier rocket is underway at the Vostochny spaceport in the Russian Far East, according to the materials presented by the Khrunichev Space Center at the Army-2018 international military and technical forum on Tuesday.

"Work is underway at the Vostochny spaceport to build infrastructure for preparing launches of Angara carrier rockets and the universal launch compound of the Amur space and rocket center," the materials say.

Russia’s State Space Corporation Roscosmos earlier said that a contract with the construction company Kazan for building the second stage of the Vostochny cosmodrome would be signed in late August and work would begin in early September.

Roscosmos earlier said that the construction of the launch pad for the Angara carrier rocket at the Vostochny spaceport should begin in June 2018. Before that, there were plans to start the launch pad’s construction in early 2018, about which then-Head of the Center for the Operation of Ground-Based Space Infrastructure Rano Dhurayeva told TASS in November 2017. Technological equipment for the construction was delivered to the cosmodrome in August last year. The launch of an Angara rocket from the new pad is expected in 2021.

Soil cavities discovered underneath Soyuz-2 launch pad at Vostochny spaceport - source

"We have already concluded a contract to eliminate the cavities," the source said

MOSCOW, September 10. /TASS/. Repairs must be carried out at the launch pad for Soyuz-2 carrier rockets at the Vostochy spaceport in Russia’s Far East after cavities were discovered in the soil underneath a servicing tower, a source at the spaceport told TASS.

"Cavities appeared underneath the reinforced concrete foundation of a mobile servicing tower at the first launch pad of the Vostochny spaceport," the source said. "We have already concluded a contract to eliminate the cavities."

The source did not specify the origin of the cavities at the launch pad of the spaceport in Russia’s Far East, while the Center for the Operation of Ground-Based Space Infrastructure refrained from making comments on the situation.

The first launch site at the Vostochny space center was built in 2012-2016 for Soyuz rockets and the first launch from it was carried out on April 28, 2016.

MOSCOW, September 7. /TASS/. The chief of the space rocket corporation Roscosmos Dmitry Rogozin has declared construction work has begun at the Vostochny spaceport for the heavy space rocket Angara.

Earlier, Roscosmos said a contract with PSO Kazan for building a second unit of the Vostochny spaceport would be signed at the end of August and construction work would commence in early September.

According to earlier reports, the Angara launch pad is to be completed by December 31, 2022. Construction costs are estimated at nearly 39 billion rubles ($565 million).

The first launch pad for Soyuz rockets was built in 2012-2016 and the first launch from Vostochny was carried on April 28, 2016.

    No

Holes under the launchpad on the Vostochnii were formed due to poor quality concrete
