"Joining capacities of the SE “Zhytomyr Armored Plant,” the State Concern “Ukroboronprom” can strengthen the army with modern Ukrainian BTR-4 faster. Plant specialists are already successfully mastering hulls production. The next stage is production of armored personnel carriers BTR-4.

“Modern and powerful light-armored vehicles of Ukrainian production will be delivered to the Armed Forces of Ukraine faster. “Zhytomyr Armored Plant” has already developed technical documentation for this type of armored vehicles. The plant is planning BTR-4 state tests and delivery to the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, the National Guard and other law enforcement agencies to strengthen the country’s defence. Now UKROBORONPROM can produce more BTR-4 on the state order,”

    – said UKROBORONPROM Director General Roman Romanov.

BTR-4E is entirely Ukrainian development, which is highly competitive. The domestic light armored vehicle sample has powerful armament, great speed and protection for the crew. Almost 80 vehicles BTR-4E strengthened Ukrainian army during the military operation in the East of the country.

The President of Ukraine awarded BTR-4E developers with the State Prize of Ukraine in Science and Technology. Specialists of the UKROBORONPROM SE “Kharkiv Morozov Machine-Building Design Bureau” received the reward."

The Skval Turret is leaps and bounds from their pintle mounted Dushka's. In that aspect, I'd take Any BTR over the M1151...

Start of a long article at link

The Ukrainian press has reported that military engineers have made significant progress in the development of the Grom, a new tactical ballistic missile system, with R&D funding provided by a mysterious foreign buyer. Russian military experts comment on the system's prospects, and ponder who the Ukrainians' secret foreign partners might be.

Last week, the local media in Ukraine's Dnepropetrovsk region launched a tirade against authorities in Kiev for the latter's supposed attempts to sabotage the creation of a new weapon, the Grom short-range ballistic missile (SRBM) system. If created, it would be a Ukrainian analog to the Russian 9K720 Iskander.

Could be Saudi is the Grom customer

Saudi Arabia is discussing buying Ukrainian-made «Grom-2» tactical missile systems, according to the press service of the Pavlograd Chemical Plant.

Ukraine’s defense companies have received from Saudi Arabia around $40 million to develop the Grom-2 tactical ballistic missile system, Ukrainian media reported.

Ukraine will perform the first test launch of new tactical missile systems in the second half of 2016.

The «Grom-2» has a range of 350km (max 500km), developed by Yuzhnoye Design Bureau and the Pavlograd Chemical Plant are in charge of developing the weapon and testing.

Earlier Russian media reported, that Saudi Arabia setting terms for the purchase of Russian Iskander missiles, but Information obtained by Stratfor reveals that Saudi Arabia has no plans to purchase military hardware from Russia, including the Iskander-E, a tactical ballistic missile capable of carrying a nuclear weapon.

Well, there is a system that made this missile obsolete.

This is the SPR-2M "Rtut-BM" jammer, which is designed to defeat incoming artillery shells/guided or unguided rockets or literally anything that has a proximity fuse. It's presence is confirmed in Donbass, so if Poroshenko would order his troops to fire this "Vilha" missile on a Russian unit that is equipped with this "Rtut-BM" jammer, as soon as the missile comes within the range of the Rtut (it has a 50 hectares of coverage), the jammer will fry its fuse and the missile will blow up in mid air.

KIEV (Sputnik) – Yuri Biriukov, an adviser to Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, announced on Wednesday a successful test of a new domestic-made missile and posted a video of launching on his Facebook page.

"Great news has come from the tests of the new Ukrainian missile. All the launches were successful. The result is impressive, as the missile demonstrated a very high precision with the range capability of 60 km [37 miles]," Biriukov wrote on his account. At the same time, Biriukov did not specify what model of the missile had been tested.

According to reports, Ukraine is developing the missile, nicknamed Olkha, which is expected to be launched using the multiple rocket launcher Smerch. The new weapon system is reportedly expected to change the tactical operational missile system Tochka, which has been actively used by Kiev during the hostilities in eastern Ukraine.

According to reports, the Olkha project was first revealed in January, and the system was tested in August near the Ukrainian city of Odessa. It reportedly fully consists of Ukraine-made spare parts and has much more higher precision capacity than Tochka.

Earlier in November, Oleksandr Turchynov, secretary of the Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council, said that country's missile program involved the full circle of production. According to Turchynov, Ukraine is rapidly restoring its strategic position in rocket and missile engineering.

Last year it was reported that Saudi investors had secretly invested about $40 million into the development of the Grom-2: a new Ukrainian tactical short range ballistic missile (SRBM) system designed to compete with Russia's Iskander. However, reports now suggest that the Saudis have cut off funding, leading to the suspension of the program.
