Great site http://russianplanes.net/is taken down (seemingly voluntarily) - a casualty of the cocaine scandal in Russian embassy in Argentina. Photos on the site identified a presidential administration plane being used to smuggle cocaine. What a bizarre story. Sad to see the site go

In fact, the opposite: an Argentine policeman was sending cocaine to the Argentine embassy in Moscow, in diplomatic mail. I hope russianplanes.net will return, it was by far the best and most site of Russian aviation photos.

Not quite according to Fortruss but the timeline is odd. A lot of cocaine was found in the Russian Embassy school, was swapped and tracked as Russian security people moved it to Moscow. The Russians enlisted Argentinian help to close the ring. Apparently intended to help the World Cup along in the Summer. Agree with you re the site.

Thanks for the clarification. I am seeing that Patrushev (former head of the FSB) is being mentioned in this case, do you have more details on this?

No, but the whole situation is getting increasingly messy. This amount and value of coke would have pulled in all kinds of powerful figures at both ends. It really needs a thread of its own rather than discuss it here.
