Ok, so instead of posting many small threads for minor (and not so minor) export contracts, I thought it would be easier to have one place.
This thread will be for ground vehicles, AFVs the like, I guess we should put Air Defense in a separate thread.

    http://lenta.ru/news/2012/04/17/buy/
Posted this in a separate thread by accident, but once again, Indonesia looking to buy another 37 BMP-3F for over 100 million dollars.

    http://topwar.ru/13532-kazahstan-zakazal-u-rossii-krupnuyu-partiyu-btr-82.html

Kazakhstan signed contract to buy 90 BTR-82s. Deliveries will start in 2013 and continue for 2 years.
This is not the first BTR-82 contract for Kazakhstan. Under the first, they already took deliveries of 30 vehicles in 2011, and are receiving 70 this year.
A 3rd contract is likely in the future.

Good idea to have an export news section.

The Russian Military-Industrial Complex can not find enough domestic orders to ensure that the design and production facilities maintain efficient and profitable/sustainable operations. The excess capacity will have to go to exports.

Arms exports are also a political tool.

Well I think that domestic orders will come as they still have lots of obsolete stuff in service that they need to deal with first... once that has been dealt with they can start with large orders which should help reduce prices.

Kazan Helicopters to manufacture two more Mi-17 helicopters for Thailand
    Russian Aviaton » Friday November 28, 2014 13:33 MSK

Russia signed a contract with Thailand for delivery of two more multi-role Mi-17V-5 helicopters manufactured by Kazan Helicopters, Business Online reports.

These two helicopters will join three Mi-17V-5s already operated by the country in 2016. The contract for delivery of the first three vehicles was signed in 2008 and implemented in 2011; the helicopters are operated by the Royal Thai Air Force at an air base located near Bangkok.

The government of Thailand allocated $40 million for purchase of two additional Mi-17V-5 helicopters in October 2013. The experts believe that the contract was signed in mid-2014.

Russia to Sign Contract on Mi-35 Deliveries to Afghanistan in October

Russia plans to sign a contract on the delivery of several Mi-35 helicopters to Afghanistan.Russia will continue providing support to Afghan government forces and plans to sign a contract on the delivery of several Mi-35 helicopters to Afghanistan in October, Russian presidential envoy to Afghanistan and head of the Russian Foreign Ministry's Second Asia Department Zamir Kabulov told the Izvestia newspaper.

Afghanistan’s first Vice President Abdul Rashid Dostum has asked Russia for military aid amid a fight against Islamic State (ISIL) militants."Russia is already providing certain assistance in strengthening the capabilities of the Afghan government forces," Kabulov said, explaining that Russia delivers weaponry to Afghanistan and provides military training for Afghan officers.

According to the Russian envoy, this process will continue and Afghanistan will receive more Russian aid in the near future."We plan to conclude a contract with the Afghan side in October on the delivery, on a commercial basis, of several Mi-35 combat helicopters," Kabulov told the Russian Izvestia newspaper.

He stressed that the key to peace and security in Afghanistan is not the foreign troops present in the country."Afghanistan has an army and many Afghans are capable of bearing arms and know how to use them well. We need to strengthen the national potential, and not try to defend the Afghan government with foreign troops," Kabulov said, adding that the presence of NATO/US forces in the country has led to the rise of extremists, not their decline.

Afghanistan continues to be in a state of political and social turmoil as the Taliban and Islamic State (ISIL) radicals take advantage of instability in the country, which has persisted since the 2001 US-led invasion. On Thursday, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Russia Gen. Valery Gerasimov said that the number of ISIL militants in Afghanistan stands at around 2,000-3,000 and is growing constantly.

Moscow Completing Firearms Delivery to Afghanistan

Afghanistan received 10,000 AK-47 assault rifles from Russia.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Moscow is completing the delivery of a batch of firearms to Kabul under the latest contract between the two states, Zamir Kabulov, the head of the department in the Russian Foreign Ministry responsible for Afghanistan, said Wendesday.

“Deliveries are underway. This morning, an official handover ceremony [for the batch of 10,000 AK-47 assault rifles] was held in Kabul with Afghan officials and our Ambassador [Alexander Mantytskiy] in attendance. So the deliveries are nearing completion,” Kabulov told RIA Novosti.

According to Kabulov, who is also the Kremlin's special envoy to Afghanistan, a new contract between the sides for firearms is not currently being planned.

In October, Afghan President Ashraf Ghani asked Russia to supply artillery, small arms and helicopters to the central Asian country to aid it in its fight against Islamist insurgents.

Russia plans to buy T-80U tanks and BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicles that gave to South Korea in 1990s as repayment of the Soviet debt. It is assumed that the tanks are designed for disassembly for parts, but interviewed military experts do not rule out the possibility of resale to Cyprus and Yemen.
