Russia only agreed to a larger batch, so that is why they are currently negotiating.

To be fair they have bought large batches of most weapons (even those they eventually indigenized) and they haven't exported any Flanker copies.
I don't really have a problem with the sale, from a security perspective if they suddenly wanted to buy lets say 200 Su-35s it would be more worrying.
According to some reports US has deployed a squadron of F-22 Raptor somewhere in Japan. So, perhaps the Chinese government wants to procure Su-35S to counter the stealth raptor threat.

Anyway, even I'm not too worried about this sale. Russia has full right to sell  any stuff they have developed to any country they may deem perfect. Though I also think Russia knows what is best for her and her sister India in the long term for their respective safety Very Happy

And one more thing, once India gets the Super Sukhoi upgraded flankers, they will most likely be more advance than exported Su-35S.

you are so naive there is no countries in the world are brother and sister . it's all about interest , even USA and UK , no forever friends but forever interest .

from a most reliable Chinese MIC insider , he said our air force has more than 2000 2th fighter(J7/J8) need to replace, but our industry can not produce that fast ,

they have interest in the structure of SU35 and engine, but they don't want the radar and russia missile, they want SU35 has ability to fire our own weapons and AESA radar , that's why the negotiation stuck

    Airforce don't think SU35 can counter F22 .

about the lada submarine Navy want to learn single shell structure, and use in our future nuclear submarine , because all the submarines China build is double shell. they think single shell has more advantage

40N6 is the most important factor in S400 deal, If without 40N6 . S400 is just a little better than S300 . 40N6 seems never mature

News of the day. My vote for you dino00.

    and another confirmation

Signed a contract to supply China with Russian anti-aircraft missile systems S-400

so we have "at least six divisions" for "more than 3 bin $"

Manager of one of the Russian enterprises of the military-industrial complex and a person close to the leadership of the Russian Defense Ministry, told "Vedomosti" that at the beginning of this autumn a contract was signed between "Rosoboronexport" and the Ministry of National Defense to supply at least six divisions anti-missile system C-400 in the amount of more than $ 3 billion.

    and another one  Very Happy

China signs $3 billion S-400 Triumf contract with Russia - newspaper

And now Russia denied the deal. Something fishy is going on.

FSMTC denied the conclusion of a contract for the supply of S-400 in China

    Rosoboronexport not commenting anything

"Rosoboronexport" does not comment on the publication of the delivery of China S-400

Hopefully the confirmation will be Su-35 (also denied) and S-400 appearing in PLA colours sometime in the near future. It's 50-50 at the moment (either contracts are already signed and FSMTC is engaged in maskirovka, or unfortunately no deals have been signed so far). Same with Egypt's S-300VM btw. (FSMTC also denied the deal).

Russia, China notably step up military ties 2014 — Defense Ministry

MOSCOW, /TASS/. Russia and China this year have notably stepped up military ties and their military-technical cooperation has acquired a new dimension, Deputy Defense Minister Anatoly Antonov told the media on Wednesday.

“Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu’s visit to Beijing played a key role in this sense. The importance of joint staff exercises on land and on the high seas was noted. Decisions were made to enhance cooperation in military medicine, personnel training and the military-technical sphere,” Antonov recalled.

Beijing, he said, has developed greater awareness of the harmful effects of the US missile defense system on security in the region. “This expands room for our interaction, including that in the international scene,” he remarked.

Russia-China military-technical cooperation is acquiring a new dimension and becomes oriented towards cooperation in advanced technologies and know-how.

From a little bit older (still year 2015) article it seems we are speaking about 6 batteries of S-400 systems valued 3bin $

Russia and China signed a contract for delivery of S-400 air defense systems

The United States has set a new standard for diplomacy - a degree of incompetence almost unprecedented - at least since the prelude to the First World War.  Threatened by a rising power fully capable of overshadowing it - China - they have driven Russia, a potentially hugely valuable ally for the Dragon - straight into the Chinese camp. What on earth were they thinking? Or were they?
Idiocy of the very highest standard!

They tried to play Russia and China against each other for more than a century without success so they then tried to destabilize both countries from within. Financing and arming chechen terrorists and they did the same with tibetian youngsters manipulated them to become violent against china and so they got crushed.

Only a paid one or a complete imbecile does not see that US is the enemy.
