Are there already S-300V in Egypt right now? And where could we expect them?
    Thanks

    Thanks! That would be about two batteries: 6 launcher + 3 Loader-launcher + one 9S32 for each batt plus one 9S15 & 9S19; that's 22 chassis

It appears Egypt bought Tor-M2EK alongside the tracked Tor-M2E!

Correction about Tor-M2EK, the footage is from Belarus. I was mistaken.

It does look like Egypt has Tor-M2EK.

The close range shot is from a wheeled version (not from Egypt)

But, at the 13 minute in the video you can see 2 vehicles, By looking at the search radar on the one in the right, I can see it could be a Tor-M2EK version.

Here is still shot at 13:07 min in the video

Sorry i haven't replied here earlier, obviously the radar of Tor-M2E (tracked) and Tor-M2EK (wheeled)  is the same. Like i said, have traced that launch footage from a belarussian video, i'll have to dig it out again. The angle is exactly the same, and the vehicle is green coloured  as opposed to sand coulour of the egyptian SAMs.

Great reply BTW.  They claim they are un-phased because it's peacetime but to protect their future F-35's from any intrusion into Egyptian airspace, they have to go back to the old Vietnam Wild Weasel methods using new tech we can get into if you like.

For the first time, a photo of the newest Russian radar 59N6E "Enemy-GE", which is on the armament of the Egyptian army, was published. Earlier, the delivery of radar data to Egypt was not reported.

Mobile radar 59N6E "Enemy-GE" with digital phased array and digital signal processing is able to track air targets of all classes, perform their identification in the SAM system, as well as automated command and control systems of air defense and air forces.

Developer: FSUE "Nizhny Novgorod Scientific Research Institute of Radio Engineering".
The manufacturer: Open Society "Concern PVO" Almaz-Antej ".

    Tactical and technical characteristics
The range is 23 cm (decimeter)
    Scope of work:
    - in range, km - 10-400
    - Height, km - 200
    - in azimuth, degrees. - 360
    - by the angle of the place, degrees. - up to 45
    - according to the speed, km / h - 60-8000
Target detection area "aircraft" (ESR = 1.5m2) without interference:
    Range of detection, km:
    - at a flight altitude of 100m - 40
    - at a flight altitude of 1000m - 100
    - at a flight altitude of 5000 m - 240
    - at a flight altitude from 12 km to 80 km - 340
The upper limit of the detection zone:

The new Soviet and Russian air defence systems were designed around lessons learned regarding tactics used successfully against their previous models including those in Vietnam and Iraq and other places too.

Do you really think Vietnam tactics will work against systems developed based on experience of that conflict and conflicts since...

Even Pantsir-S1 was evolved based on NATO efforts in Kosovo where its altitude performance was greatly improved to prevent fly over tactics used in Kosovo...

Now obviously the F-35 is a real unknown, but I would think Soviet and now Russian systems will cope... perhaps the best solution is for Israel to stop violating the air space of its neighbours and negotiate for peace honestly. Getting your way through blunt violence is hardly a 21st century solution... a lesson perhaps the US could do with learning too.. but I doubt it is going to happen in either case.

Egypt buys German anti-aircraft missile system SLM with IRIS-T missiles

As the German newspaper Rheinische Post reported, the German government approved a contract for the sale of seven ground-based SLM medium-range anti-aircraft missile systems to Egypt by the German company Diehl Defense GmbH & Co. KG. KG (part of the Diehl group). Information on the approval of the SLM SLM sale to Egypt is contained in the letter of the Federal Minister of the Economy of the FRG Peter Altmeyer to the Bundestag Economics Committee on September 19, 2018. The cost of the contract and other parameters of the contract have not yet been reported.

The same letter of the Minister contains a notification from the Bundestag about the approval by the German government of the sale of Saudi Arabia's four ground-based artillery reconnaissance radars (presumably the COBRA radar produced by the European consortium Euro-Art International, the assembly of the radar by the German company Hensoldt), and the 170 warheads and rocket ramjet solid fuel engines (manufactured by the German company Bayern-Chemie / Protac, controlled by the European missile association MBDA) trolled missiles Meteor air-to-air for delivery Qatar (for arming ordered Qatar UK 24 fighter Eurofighter Typhoon, assembly Meteor missiles themselves carried by the British Department MBDA). Jordan has approved the delivery of 385 anti-tank systems manufactured by Dynamit Nobel (referring to the RPG Panzerfaust 3 or RGW 60/90).

Egypt thus became the first known customer of the SLK in the execution of Diehl SLM. Developed by Diehl Defense with the financing of the Ministry of Defense of the FRG, the SL / SLM complex uses as a surface-to-air missile the modified IRIS-T guided air-to-air guided missile IRIS-T with an infrared homing head equipped with a more powerful engine. The range of the missile in the version of the missile from the vertical launcher reaches 40 km, reach in height - 20 km. The missile uses additional radio command guidance (in combination with inertial-satellite correction) in the main part of the trajectory with the capture of the target of infrared type IIR GOS on the final segment.

Earlier this complex in the simplified version of SLS was ordered in small quantities by Sweden (the delivery should be started in 2019) and Norway. The German Armed Forces are planning to use the missiles of this system to integrate into the proposed MEADS air defense and missile defense complex.

The Egyptian SLM complex should additionally include a multifunctional target detection and tracking radar, the type of which is not yet known. In the initial tests, the Saab Giraffe (in particular, AMV) radar was used as part of the complex, but in 2014 demonstration firing was conducted with the Australian multifunctional radar CEA Technologies CEAFAR with AFAR (in the version for this radar system the radar was designated GBMMR). At the same time, the BMD-Flex control and communication system was used by the Danish company Terma A / S and the Oerlikon Skymaster combat management system from Rheinmetall Air Defense,
